As of December 16th, 2006, Krista and Jeffry are engaged!


He took me to Duluth for the weekend... just one night... but still very special since it was our first vacation spot together. He decided to do this for me because I had been stressed about my last semester of school and working hard on my finals... so as a early christmas gift he brought me there.

We left at 4am so we could have a full day of photo fun at Gooseberry Falls and Canal Park.

After checking in at the hotel we packed up our camera gear and headed out to Gooseberry Falls State Park to see if the water was still running, since I hadn't really seen the falls "fall" before (Last time it was pretty much all frozen over). So we're at the lower part of the falls taking pictures, having fun, and out of no where my memory card in my camera decides to just FREAK OUT and ruin every picture I had taken, including the ones I took of Jeffry. I just about started crying. I just wanted to leave because I felt so depressed. Well... Jeff insisted on going to the upper falls to see them, and I protested at first but he finally got me to agree to it after a couple pouts and whimpers from me. We get up there and I use his camera to take some shots of him. He got up after a couple shots and went over to a near by rock and sat down, motioning me to come sit next to him. I sat down and he asked if it was okay if he read me his favorite poem, since it was our second time back there together, and it was a meaningful place for us. I smiled and agreed to listen to him read the poem. My eyes swelled with tears watching him read this love poem to me, knowing it came from his heart (my eyes are watery just remembering it). Once he was done, I started to wipe away the tears when he turned quickly with a box in his hand... I know my eyes had to of gotten huge... I felt my breath catch when he got on one knee, and the tears came back. He told me how much he loved me, how much me being in his life meant to him, and then there it was... the question, "Will you be my wife?" "will you marry me?" I had been saying yes even before he had finished asking the question. There was no end to my "yes", it just went on and on and on. He slid the ring onto my finger and I lept for him, holding him as close to me as I could as I laughed and cried with joy. Nothing else mattered at that point. I didn't care that I had lost all my pictures to the dying memory card... all I cared about was that I was with the man I loved and the knowledge that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Saturday was a good day, the whole weekend was good.
I was in the place that I love with the man that I love...
can't get much better than that.
